How much will therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on the nature of your injury, the results of our initial evaluation, and what you want to accomplish. Please request an estimate of the cost and duration of treatment after you have come in for your initial evaluation. Most initial evaluations with treatment range from $80 to $160.

Will my therapy be covered by insurance?

Most insurance plans cover therapy treatments. However, plans vary and it is best to call your insurance plan administrator. If you need assistance, our support staff can also call your insurance carrier for information regarding your coverage while you are receiving your initial evaluation.

How many times will I need to come in?

After your evaluation, you and your therapist will determine the number of times you will need to be seen. The extent and seriousness of your injury will be a primary consideration for determining the amount of treatment you will need. Most clients are seen from one to three times a week for three to six weeks. We further enhance your rehab by allowing you to use either of our facilities, including the therapeutic pool, on days when you do not have a scheduled appointment. Ask your therapist for details!

Can I continue my regular exercise?

A highly skilled and experienced therapist will carefully evaluate the extent and nature of your injury, as well as your ability and desire to exercise. They will prescribe a specific rehab exercise program for you until you are on your way to recovery. If we think continuing your regular exercise program would be beneficial, we will encourage you to continue. Remember: You have access to either facility and/or the therapeutic pool during your rehab, to aid in your rapid recovery!

Is “no pain, no gain” true for physical therapy?

No. Physical therapy for rehabilitating injuries is not the same as training for competitive sports. Pain causes muscle contractions and guarding, inflammation, and restricted motion. This leads to continuation of the pain cycle and inappropriate movement patterns that can result in further injury. Chronic inflammation also causes scarring, as well as weakening of connective tissue. Our therapy programs are designed to avoid pain while promoting rapid recovery.

Who can refer me to a physical therapist?

You can refer yourself! Due to our special training and licensure, you can receive an evaluation and treatment without a prescription. In addition, many medical practitioners, including physicians, nurse practitioners, osteopathic physicians, and physicians’ assistants can refer you for therapy.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. If you have a low back, knee, or ankle injury, bring a pair of shorts. Cloth gowns are also available. If pool therapy is recommended, you will be asked to bring your swim suit and a towel. Locker rooms with showers are available on site.
