2008 Exercise Class Schedule

 

CURRENT CLASSES

 

"Boot Camp" Aerobics

Tuesdays and Thursdays
6:00 am – 7:15 am

Anaerobic intervals (high energy calorie burning segments) spaced with core stability drills and uncomplicated step-aerobic maneuvers. Ends with standing stretch/balance and toning on mat. Benefits: endurance, core stability, posture, balance, flexibility, coordination.

 

Pilates

Saturdays 9am - 10am

This class is done in a nice paced movement with the Resist-A-Band and stability ball. It will re-teach your body correct form and better posture, leading to a strong center and long, lean muscles. This class is for all fitness levels. Come join us on Tuesdays and Saturdays!

 

Aquatics Class

Mondays and Wednesdays
12:30-1:45

Come join us in the water at the Super 8 Motel swimming pool. This class will increase and maintain flexibility, improve cardio-respiratory fitness, and increase endurance. The cost is $7.00 per class for all participants. Register at High Peaks Physical Therapy, 354-6333.

 

Strength and Conditioning

Monday and Wednesday
1:00-2:00

An hour of calorie burning strength and conditioning using hand weights, stability balls, and exercise bands. The class is taught by certified instructor Katherine Dowson.

 

 

 

SEASONAL CLASSES

 

Youth Fitness

New kids’ program being offered! Fun fitness activities designed to improve endurance, strength, balance, coordination, posture, and flexibility. (Offered during the school year; see front-desk staff for dates and times.) No gym membership required and open to the public.

 

Ski Fitness

High Peaks Fall Classic!! Prepare for the winter skiing season!! This class is a combination of cardio, strength, and flexibility; it incorporates plyometric and agility drills to prepare muscles and heart for all types of skiing. Classes grow more difficult as the weeks progress. Seven-week session offered twice weekly during the fall.

 

Pump Class

This class is a one-hour strength and flexibility class utilizing free weights, fitness balls, and resistance bands. Great class to maintain tone. Taught in the fall and spring.

 

Spin Class

Music and interesting drills will distract you from the challenge, but this is an intense workout on Spinning bikes. Experience is not necessary and you can go at your own pace. Please bring a water bottle, towel, cycling or stiff athletic shoes, and bike shorts if you have them. Taught during the winter months.
